Microsoft approached us to devise a way to let customers know that MSN Messenger was now available on their mobiles. We knew that people loved engaging with games and puzzles so we devised our own interactive experience that challenged you to help an MSN buddy character escape from inside a computer.
We created a game that allowed you to type in commands into an MSN style messenger window to get your buddy to perform actions to help him escape. We shot our actor inside a small set over the course of a day performing various tasks that formed the decision points of the game. We then created his MSN-style head in post, adding friendly characteristics to help tell his story.
