In the run up to the general election, The Lib Dems approached us to create something that would engage a digital generation of voters. At that time people were loving Cassetteboy’s video remixes so we looked to create a tool that would let you create something similar from political speeches.
Using a variety of tools, we laboriously cut up the political speeches of both David Cameron and Gordon Brown, the opponents to the Lib Dems, and served them in a web app that allowed you to pick words and build sentences to remix their speeches. We did this overnight so that the very next day people could mash up these speeches and share their creations to their social channels thus subverting the pomp and nonsense of politics.
